Temps might be heating up, but it’s never a bad time to hop on your bike and feel the wind in your hair with your “Cycologist” shirt on your back. Our General Manager, Dodge, and one of our bike techs, Doug, let us know where you can find them riding in July.

For Dodge, he’s breaking out the bike to head over to Savoy Society. As the temps cool off around sunset, he enjoys a quick jaunt over to his favorite bar. Despite the downtown location, Savoy caters to visitors and locals alike. With expert drinks, a cool but casual vibe, and a neat menu, Dodge enjoys cooling off with a cocktail in hand.

After a stop at the Savoy, he partakes in a ride down Broughton St. On a bustling, but not busy night, Broughton provides a people-watching paradise. There’s a buzz in the air and lights hanging across the street provide a perfect backdrop for a sunset ride. Take in the mix of buildings from almost every era of Savannah’s history and maybe pop into Leopold’s for some ice cream too. 

Ask Doug where he’s riding after work; chances are good it’s to Hop Atomica, Savannah’s only combined brewery and distillery in the Baldwin Park neighborhood. The outdoor seating, cold beers, and new food menu keep Savannahians (new and old) returning to Hop Atomica. 

While Doug also enjoys a nightly ride through downtown, he’s also had a chance to explore behind city limits—and state lines. He recently tried out the Spanish Moss Trail near Beaufort, South Carolina. The rails-to-trails route is a quick 10-miles but it’s enough to work up a bit of an appetite. For a bite, Doug popped into the Old Bull Tavern near Beaufort’s waterfront for “the best burger of [his] life.”
