Since 1956, May has been recognized as National Bike Month. Promoted by the League for American Bicyclists, the national organization advocating for a more bicycle friendly America, May is a celebration of bikes and the people who ride them. There are a host of ways you can participate in this observance, such as: having a bike date night, bike to school with your kids, a Mother’s Day ride, or checking out some area bike trails, to name a few. And here are some upcoming dates for participation: May 13-19 Bike to Work Week May 17 Bike to Work Day |

Savannah On Wheels Rental Bike Sale! |
|
It’s that magical time that comes only once every couple of years when we are rotating new bikes into our rental fleet and selling those rotating out. Imagine purchasing a used bike from an expert bicycle mechanic who has properly and meticulously maintained their ride. Now multiply that by a few and you have the Savannah On Wheels Rental Bike Sale! Unfortunately, we can’t publish the prices, but we can tell you that we are selling a number of Retrospec Barrons (21-speed hybrid bikes in both step-over and step-through frames) at a very inviting price. If Barrons aren’t your bag, we also have other styles and brands of used bikes for sale. Stop by anytime to check out our selection and take a test ride! |

Last month, Visit Savannah and the Davenport House Museum hosted local tour operators for an informational session and a tour of the Davenport property and we highly suggest adding this site to your Savannah itinerary! This beautifully restored, Federal-style architecture home is rich with history and tells the stories of its former inhabitants. Equally notable are the seven women who banded together in 1955 to raise the funds necessary to prevent is demolition. Out of this effort, the Historic Savannah Foundation and Savannah’s historic preservation movement were born. In addition to tours of the historic home, the site is offering various programming opportunities, from cooking workshops to yoga. Be sure to check their website for up-to-date offerings. |

This month, we highlight two ladies who have been looking for forever homes far too long! They are currently housed with Coastal Pet Rescue and would love to be a new addition to your family. Heidi (left) with the million dollar smile, is looking for her person (or people). She is a “velcro” dog who’s always by your side! She’s intelligent, house-broken, and a superstar snuggler. Zep (right) is incredibly sweet and loving and has even been on tv! She’s a bit shy but warms up once she’s comfortable and loves a good belly rub. If you believe either (or both!) of these muffins could be a good fit for you, please contact Coastal Pet Rescue for more information! |
