We all carry light inside of us. We know this. Sometimes our dimmer switch is down low, and other times, we light up a room.
You can see it when someone walks up to rent a bike. Most people arrive at about 30 percent. Friendly, sure, but guarded, a little tired maybe from the Savannah heat or travel, who knows?
We go over the map, the rules of the road. Water? Cell phone holder? Yes. Yes.
Then they return later, and the switch has moved – and not by a little. All the way to 11. These are fully grown adults glowing the way kids do.
The grins are bigger and the laughter is easy. They loved a certain square or found a great lunch spot.
I don’t pretend to know exactly why this happens, but the fact is, it happens. Every. Time. A bike ride does that.
If your dimmer could use a boost, come and see us.
